E.E. Reed Construction

E.E. Reed Construction is a general contractor based in Sugar Land, Texas, in the Houston area. It’s been building since 1977. The company works in two lines, ground-up construction and interiors, with preconstruction services up front. Its project types include commercial office, industrial, multifamily, hospitality, retail, life sciences, mission critical and religious buildings, and its project pages include work for Hancock Whitney Bank and Kroger. E.E. Reed is general contractor on CityNorth Industrial Park, Lincoln and New York Life Investment Management’s $150 million plan to replace the former Greenspoint Mall in north Houston with 1.2 million square feet of cross-dock and rear-load industrial space. Demolition started Oct. 13, 2026, Powers Brown Architecture is the designer, and the first phase is due in the first quarter of 2028.

Edward Eugene “Gene” Reed founded the company on February 1, 1977, and the site now marks 49 years in business.

The business runs as a family of companies rather than one contracting entity. E.E. Reed Construction handles ground-up work. E.E. Reed Interiors was formally established as its own division in 2019, with a team dedicated to that market, and the two arms often work the same job together, which is the usual arrangement on a healthcare fit-out or a large commercial build-out where shell and interior overlap.

Project types across the group cover commercial office buildings, corporate interiors, industrial, value office, hospitality, residential, life sciences, data centers, retail and religious facilities.

The delivery model is single-source responsibility. One experienced vice president oversees every facet of a project from conception to completion, and that same person remains the client’s primary point of contact for the duration. For an owner who has been handed off between estimators, project managers and superintendents elsewhere, that is the structural difference worth asking about.

On sustainability the company states it has completed construction on more than 45 LEED projects and supports sustainable architectural design.

Recent and featured work on the company’s own project pages includes U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Valero Houston Central Process Control Facility, a Kroger Signature Store, the PSC Group project, and Frontier Barbours Cut.

The office is in Sugar Land, in the Houston metro, on 281-933-4000.
