The Euclid Chemical Company

The Euclid Chemical Company is a Cleveland maker of concrete and masonry products. Jacob Klein started it in 1910 as Klein Building Products, selling waterproofing and concrete additives, and RPM International bought it in 1984. Its line covers admixtures, fibers, integral color, grouts, repair mortars, coatings, curing and sealing compounds, hardeners, joint fillers, sealants and waterproofing, sold to contractors, specifiers and ready-mix producers. Euclid’s latest release is NexSlab, software that designs fiber-reinforced slabs-on-ground for warehouses. There’s a catch for specifiers: it only designs with Euclid’s own TUF-STRAND SF fiber and uses an in-house TR34 method the company hasn’t published, so engineers can’t check its math against an open standard.

Euclid organises its catalogue by application rather than by chemistry, which makes it easier to work backwards from a problem on site.

New construction covers data centers, ready-mix concrete, precast, bridges, parking structures, concrete masonry, and floors and pavements. Repair and restoration repeats bridges and parking structures but adds water and wastewater treatment and flooring and pavement work, plus a cement manufacturing group covering CO2 emission reduction, energy efficiency and product performance. Underground and shotcrete is its own division, with mining, tunneling, shotcrete and geotechnical product lines. Decorative concrete splits into cast-in-place, restoration and resurfacing, high-performance floor coatings, precast and paver products, polished concrete, and prepping and finishing.

The admixture range alone is granular: air entrainers, masonry admixtures, set accelerators, set retarders, normal, mid-range and high-range water reducers, specialty and powdered admixtures, and cement additives. Fibers come as synthetic macrofibers, synthetic microfibers and steel fibers.

For polished concrete the named products are Euco Diamond Hard, UltraSil Li+, Eucosil, UltraGuard, INCRETE VIBRA STAIN SB, Level Top Polish, Level Top PC-AGG, and the Euco QWIKjoint UVR joint filler family in standard, 65 and 95 grades.

The specifier-facing material is substantial, and this is where the site earns its keep. A download centre holds literature, technical and safety data sheets, specifications, technical bulletins, engineering details, LEED certifications and product certifications. Alongside it sit concrete calculators, a DOT approved products list, a product VOC map, Concrete in Practice references, a video library, and both a sales rep locator and a distributor locator. A FiberCalc app calculates dosage and pricing for TUF-STRAND SF macrofibers and generates reports for walls and floors.
