Samet Corporation

Samet Corporation is a Greensboro, North Carolina, builder that traces its start to 1961, when Norman Samet opened Samet Construction Co. It works as a general contractor and design-builder, and it also runs a real estate arm that develops and leases property. Its project list runs through civic and municipal buildings, cold storage, industrial, healthcare, schools and colleges, multifamily, senior living, office and life sciences. Fire stations show up often, including Greensboro Fire Station 8. In Charlotte, Samet is the design-builder on Firehouse 44, a $23.3 million, 14,000-square-foot mass timber station on Dixie River Road that broke ground Oct. 8, 2026. The firm says it crossed $1 billion in revenue in 2022 and now has six offices across the Carolinas and Georgia.

The family history runs further back than the company date. A Samet founded KS Builders in High Point, North Carolina in 1940; Norman Samet founded Samet Construction Co. in 1961, and 1961 is the year the company marks. It is currently celebrating 65 years.

Six offices now cover three states. Charleston is at 4285 Spruill Avenue in North Charleston on (843) 714-2077; Charlotte at 2825 South Boulevard, Suite 401 on (704) 697-2125; plus Greensboro, Raleigh, Wilmington and Savannah. Each office carries its own contact form rather than routing through a central desk.

Work is organised into eleven sectors, and the breadth is the point: civic and municipal, cold storage, commercial and industrial, healthcare, higher education, K-12 education, multifamily, office, senior living, life sciences, sports and entertainment, and worship. Cold storage and life sciences as named sectors signal technical capability that a general commercial contractor would not usually claim.

The published project roster gives a sense of client type: AskBio, Astellas, Atrium Mountain Island Health, BD Diagnostics, Biolabs, Biscuitville, Beeson Crossroads Fire Station, AC Corcoran Elementary, ABC of North Carolina and Bishop Gadsden among them. Fire stations and schools recur, which matches the civic weighting.

A separate real estate division handles development and leasing, with available properties published on the site, so the company can act as developer as well as builder on the same project.

Subcontractors have a defined route in: the subcontractor programme publishes forms, a prequalification and renewal process, and a supplier inclusion track. The company’s stated position is that subcontractor relationships are what deliver the projects, not an administrative afterthought.
