Leopardo Companies

Leopardo Companies is a construction manager and general contractor headquartered in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, with a second Illinois office on West Monroe Street in Chicago and offices in Orlando, Cleveland and Washington, D.C. The firm was founded in 1977 and says it employs hundreds of construction professionals. Leopardo offers preconstruction, construction management, job order contracting, procurement and self-perform work across office, healthcare, education, residential, senior living, science and industrial sectors. In Chicago, a joint venture of Leopardo and GMA Construction Group built Bellwether Residences, the conversion of the Rector Building, where apartments now fill floors seven through 14.

Leopardo has been building since 1977 and works across twelve named markets: aviation, community, healthcare, historical, hospitality, industrial, interiors, office, residential, retail, science and technology, and senior living. The historical and science-and-technology categories sit at opposite ends of the difficulty curve and are a reasonable test of range.

Capabilities are organised as ten distinct services rather than a single construction offering: estimating and preconstruction, construction management, delivery methods, job order contracting, procurement, quality management, safety, self-perform, sustainability, and technology and virtual building. Job order contracting is the one worth knowing about for public and institutional owners, since it covers repeat small-scope work under a standing contract instead of bidding each job. Self-perform means in-house trades on parts of the work rather than full subcontracting.

The office addresses are 5200 Prairie Stone Parkway in Hoffman Estates, 1100 W. Monroe Street in Chicago, 6314 Kingspointe Parkway Suite 7 in Orlando, 1020 Bolivar Road Suite 203 in Cleveland, and 853 New Jersey Avenue SE Suite 200 in Washington, D.C.

Recent named work covers the Covenant Living of Northbrook carriage homes and town centre, the Downers Grove Civic Center, the RUSH MD Anderson Cancer Center at Rush Lisle, and Ten60 Bolivar Apartments. The Downers Grove Civic Center earned a Chicago Building Congress Merit Award in May 2026, and Leopardo’s Pederson was honoured by ASA Chicago the same month. In September 2026 the firm promoted Doug Snider to vice president of construction technology and innovation.

Repeat clients include Sterling Bay, Northwest Community Healthcare, Mariano’s, AMC, Hilton, University of Chicago Medicine, Walgreens, Leo Burnett, the West Chicago Park District, Hyatt, DMG and Audi, which spans healthcare, grocery, hospitality and advertising interiors. The company publishes a general contractor licence page and a prequalification form for subcontractors looking to bid its work.
