Breath Assured

Breath Assured is a family-owned HVAC cleaning, installation, and maintenance company serving Halifax, Dartmouth, and the HRM. We provide professional HVAC cleaning, heat pump cleaning, air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, installation, repair, and maintenance services. Our goal is to help homeowners enjoy cleaner indoor air, reliable HVAC performance, and year-round comfort through quality workmanship and dependable service.

The service list separates several jobs that homeowners tend to lump together, and the distinctions are the useful part.

Duct cleaning and mini-split cleaning are not the same work. A ducted system collects dust along the runs; a ductless head has no ducts but does have a blower wheel and an evaporator coil, and both accumulate a film that chokes airflow and drags efficiency down long before anyone notices a smell. Breath Assured lists mini-split cleaning and evaporator coil cleaning as services in their own right. On a Nova Scotia heat pump running most of the year, that cleaning is the maintenance that keeps the unit’s rated performance honest.

HRV work is the second distinction, and it is specific to how houses are built here. An air exchanger is the planned ventilation in an airtight home – the thing that brings fresh air in and recovers heat from the air going out. If its cores and filters are dirty it quietly stops doing both, and the house gets stuffy and damp while the heating bill rises. Cleaning and installation are both offered.

Dryer vent cleaning is the third, and the reason to do it is fire risk rather than air quality – lint in a long duct run is the hazard.

On the installation side the company fits mini-split heat pumps, full heat pump systems, furnaces, air conditioning and HRVs, so a house can be cleaned, serviced and eventually re-equipped by the same crew that knows the system.

Coverage reaches past the Halifax Regional Municipality. Bedford, Lower Sackville, Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage are named alongside Halifax and Dartmouth, and so are Hubbards, Chester and Lunenburg – a run down the South Shore that puts the company well outside the HRM boundary the description above sets.

Booking can be done online, the company is insured and bonded, and it carried over 675 Google reviews as of this writing. The office is at 50 Eileen Stubbs Ave, Unit 130, Dartmouth, on 902-417-2219.
