Callan Marine, Ltd.

Callan Marine is a family-owned dredging and marine construction contractor based on Harborside Drive in Galveston, Texas. John Sullivan founded the company in 2009, and Callan says its management team brings more than 200 years of combined experience running large dredges. The firm works for public agencies and private terminal owners along the Gulf Coast, handling new-work and maintenance dredging, berth deepening, channel restoration, levee construction and coastal restoration. Its cutter suction dredges carry the names of U.S. generals, among them the General Patton and General Eisenhower. Callan drew attention for emergency channel work after Hurricane Harvey in 2017. It and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock worked major reaches of the Port of Corpus Christi’s $680 million channel improvement, DredgeWire reported in 2023.
