Electrovoltage Inc.

Electrovoltage Inc. is a professional electrical contractor serving Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. We provide comprehensive electrical services including installations, repairs, maintenance, and upgrades for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Two details fill out the general description above: the licence and the geography.

Electrovoltage publishes its ECRA/ESA contractor licence number, 7017240, and states WSIB compliance. In Ontario that pairing is the practical test of whether a contractor can pull permits and stand behind the inspection — the ESA licence identifies the entity responsible for the work under the Ontario Electrical Code, and WSIB coverage determines who carries the risk if someone is injured on site. Publishing the number rather than claiming “fully licensed” lets a customer verify it.

The service area reaches considerably further than the GTA label suggests. Alongside Toronto, North York, Etobicoke and Scarborough it covers Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill, runs north through Newmarket, East Gwillimbury and Stouffville to Barrie, east through Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa, and west to Burlington and the Niagara region.

The work splits between older housing and newer installations. Knob-and-tube wiring removal addresses a problem specific to Toronto’s pre-war stock, where insurers commonly require replacement before they will bind a policy. Panel upgrades often accompany it, since a 60-amp service designed for lighting and a stove does not support a modern kitchen, let alone a vehicle charger. At the newer end the company installs EV chargers, pot lights, basement wiring, fire alarm systems, security cameras and standby generators.

Commercial electrical work sits alongside the residential side, and the company advertises 24/7 emergency response with free quotes.

The office is at 4544 Dufferin Street, Unit 207, Toronto; the number is (416) 828-6976.
