Coastal Construction Group

Coastal Construction Group is a Florida general contractor founded in 1988 and headquartered in Miami, working across high-rise residential, hospitality, healthcare, education and commercial sectors. The firm builds most of its volume in South and Southwest Florida and runs offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Naples, Fort Myers, Palm Beach and Tampa. Coastal is the general contractor on the Ritz-Carlton Residences at Saltleaf on Estero Bay in Bonita Springs, where it topped out the 22-storey, 838,335-square-foot north tower on 23 September 2026 about 15.5 months after starting, while the adjacent south tower stayed occupied throughout. That project carries a $458 million construction value inside a $750 million development. Coastal’s coastal high-rise work is built on deep auger-cast pile foundations and post-tensioned concrete, the structural approach that Florida bay-front towers now require.

One measure that does not appear in a project list is worth pulling out: this contractor’s safety record.

Coastal has taken more than 35 Sunshine State Safety Awards from the University of South Florida and a first-place national AGC Safety Excellence Award in the construction management division for projects exceeding 500,000 manhours. It reports an experience modification rate well below the industry average and runs its own in-house safety education programme, the Coastal Training Institute.

On high-rise concrete work that number is not a plaque. EMR drives insurance cost directly, and on a tower with a long concrete cycle the difference between a good and an average rating is a line item large enough to decide a bid. Owners on institutional and hospitality work frequently set an EMR threshold as a prequalification condition, which means a low rate determines which jobs a contractor is allowed to bid before price enters the conversation.

The company works from three Florida offices: Miami at 5959 Waterford District Drive, West Palm Beach at 1645 Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, and Tampa at 201 East Kennedy Boulevard.

Market sectors run to multifamily residential, hospitality, commercial and mixed-use, education, and a homes and interiors group. Named projects include the Aston Martin Residences and the Surf Club Four Seasons in Miami, Plaza Coral Gables, the Porsche Design Tower and Water Street Tampa — a portfolio weighted heavily towards branded residential and hospitality, where finish tolerances and owner expectations both sit higher than on standard commercial work.
