Great Choice Glass Ltd

Great Choice Glass Ltd is a trusted glass repair and replacement company in Calgary, Canada. We provide quality glass services for homes and businesses.

Building glass only – no auto glass, no windshields, no general contracting. Great Choice Glass has held that line for more than 15 years in Calgary, and the specialisation shows up in what the company will quote on: panes, panels, enclosures and partitions, and nothing else.

Calgary is unusually hard on sealed units. Chinooks can swing the temperature 30 degrees in a matter of hours, and that thermal cycling is the leading driver of stress cracking and IGU seal failure here. A double-glazed unit that lasts 20 to 25 years in Winnipeg or Halifax typically starts fogging at 12 to 15 years in Calgary, and June-to-August hail takes out panes city-wide most summers. Pre-1990 stock in Brentwood, Glamorgan and Varsity is running original glass well past service life, while late-90s and early-2000s builds in Signal Hill and Cranston are entering the seal-failure bracket now.

The first question on most calls is whether to replace the glass or the whole window. In the majority of cases the frame is fine and a glass-only swap is the cheaper route, so the company looks at the frame before recommending anything. Quotes are given before glass is ordered: an on-site measure, a confirmed specification, then a firm price. Standard window pane replacements typically run $150 to $450, and frameless shower enclosures $800 to $2,500.

Shower work is done in code-compliant tempered glass. Alberta Building Code Section 9.6 requires it in shower applications, and the company installs nothing else there. Frameless enclosures are specified in 10mm tempered, with semi-frameless panels, sliding door tracks, hinges and pivot hardware also covered.

Commercial work runs to storefronts, office partitions and entry door glass, with same-night board-up when a window goes overnight. Residential emergency repair works the same way. The operation is fully mobile across every quadrant – 55 Westwinds Crescent NE, Unit 244 is a base, not a showroom – and completed work is backed by a written workmanship guarantee. Quotes are free and form enquiries get a same-business-day response. Emergency line: (403) 796-5485.
