DC BLOX

DC BLOX is an Atlanta-based data center developer and operator building connected infrastructure across the southeastern United States. The company develops, owns and runs its campuses rather than leasing shell space, which puts it on the owner side of the table for site selection, power procurement and construction delivery. Its ATL-West campus in Douglasville, Georgia covers 55 acres and is designed for 180 megawatts across roughly 750,000 square feet, built out as a dozen 10-megawatt data halls. A second Georgia campus, ATL-East, is under development on 72 acres in Conyers. Evans General Contractors is delivering both campuses design-build. DC BLOX targets hyperscale and AI platform tenants.

DC BLOX was founded in 2014 and opened its first Atlanta data center in 2016 after raising 15 million dollars. The strategy since has been regional rather than national: build in Southeastern markets the large operators had not prioritised, and connect them to each other.

The footprint now covers Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, Indianapolis, Greenville, Birmingham and Huntsville, plus cable landing stations at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Palm Coast, Florida. Those two are the unusual assets. A cable landing station is where a subsea cable comes ashore, and owning one changes what a regional data center business can offer, because traffic can reach international networks without routing through Northern Virginia or Miami first.

Fibre is treated as a product line in its own right. The company launched a dark fibre business in 2022 by acquiring network assets, and sells connectivity and dark fibre alongside colocation and hyperscale capacity.

Compliance is documented rather than asserted. The Birmingham facility holds Uptime Institute Tier III Certification of Constructed Facility, awarded on the building as built rather than on the design, along with a DEEP Gold sustainability certification granted in May 2022. Company-wide, DC BLOX maintains SOC 2 Type 2 compliance with a published SOC 3 report, and a HIPAA attestation via a HITRUST third party, which is what allows healthcare workloads onto the platform.

Capital has scaled with the buildout. A 1.15 billion dollar green loan closed in 2025 to fund the Douglas County campus, a financing structure that ties loan terms to sustainability criteria and is still relatively rare in data center development.

Corporate headquarters is 1040 Crown Pointe Parkway in Atlanta.
