ConstructConnect

ConstructConnect is a Cincinnati, Ohio construction technology company supplying project leads, plan and specification data, takeoff and bid management tools to general contractors, subcontractors and building product manufacturers across North America. It also publishes construction starts forecasting with Oxford Economics. Its autumn 2026 forecast raised nonresidential building growth to 8.7 percent for the year, an upgrade of more than five percentage points, while disclosing that a $77.4 billion data center gain accounts for nearly all of a $78 billion commercial increase, and that without data centers commercial construction would show virtually no growth. The same forecast puts manufacturing construction down 43 percent and residential starts down 10.5 percent.

The company’s lineage runs through construction trade journalism. Journal of Commerce dates from 1911 and Daily Commercial News from 1927, and both were eventually folded into the business, which explains why a software company’s core asset is a reporting operation rather than an algorithm.

ConstructConnect as a name arrived in 2016, formed by merging iSqFt, BidClerk, CDC News and Construction Market Data. A run of acquisitions followed: On Center Software in 2017, then SmartBid, QuoteSoft and PlanSwift in 2018. Most of the tool names contractors recognise were separately built products before that consolidation.

The database is the underlying product. The company currently tracks more than 825,000 active projects across 382 metro areas, with contact and activity data on over 575,000 companies, a scale maintained by people reading permits and calling offices rather than by scraping.

The takeoff tools are deliberately not interchangeable. On Screen Takeoff is aimed at complex bids with AI-assisted measurement, PlanSwift at simpler drag-and-drop jobs, and QuoteSoft specifically at pipe, plumbing and HVAC estimating, where the material takeoff logic differs enough to justify a separate product. A newer cloud product, ConstructConnect Takeoff, sits alongside them with an AI measurement feature branded Takeoff BOOST.

Users split across general contractors, subcontractors, building product manufacturers, suppliers and distributors, service providers, and hospitality businesses tracking renovation work.

Offices are at 3825 Edwards Road in Cincinnati, plus Peachtree Corners, Georgia and Toronto, the Canadian presence a direct inheritance from the Journal of Commerce and Daily Commercial News side of the family. Buck Brody is listed as president and chief executive.
