Two details in how Dallas Security Systems operates are worth more than the service list. The equipment it installs is not proprietary, so a system can be monitored and serviced by another company later, which takes the usual lock-in argument out of the buying decision. And installation is done by the company’s own background-checked, drug-tested employees rather than subcontractors, with outside trades brought in only for high-voltage wiring or locks.

The founders were Dallas police officers. Bill Monroe and Dale Meadows started the business in 1978, and the firm’s own pages differ slightly on whether there were two partners or four. Kevin Meadows, vice president of operations, and Ray Cherry, vice president of sales, each carry more than thirty years in the industry and remain in daily operations.

Monitoring runs from a UL-listed central station with a hot redundant backup facility, and the company does not take on monitoring contracts for other alarm dealers. Service response is committed to in writing: same day if the call arrives by noon, next day otherwise, emergencies same day.

Coverage extends past the Metroplex, north to the Oklahoma line, south to Waco, east to Tyler and west to Mineral Wells.

Beyond fixed systems, the company deploys mobile surveillance trailers with high-definition cameras and virtual guard monitoring for construction sites, special events, concerts, disaster cleanup and parking lots. Gunshot detection and vape detection are offered as separate lines, the latter aimed squarely at school districts.

Platform partners named on the site include HID, DMP, Brivo, AMAG, Avigilon, Verkada and Alarm.com on the access control side, and Axis, Avigilon, Panasonic, Sony, Digital Watchdog, Milestone and Eagle Eye on video.

The company holds Texas DPS licence C02224, belongs to the North Texas Alarm Association and the Texas Burglar & Fire Alarm Association, placed 36th on SDM’s 2026 Top Systems Integrators Report, and can provide bid and performance bonds on most projects.
