GameChange Energy

GameChange Energy, which also trades as GameChange Solar, supplies solar trackers and racking from its headquarters at 230 East Avenue in Norwalk, Connecticut, with U.S. operations in Massachusetts, Florida, Arizona and Texas. The company has moved beyond racking into electrical balance of system and, more recently, power transformers. In August 2026 it started foundations on a 300,000-square-foot extra-high-voltage transformer factory at Navi Mumbai designed for up to 150 units a year rated to 300 MVA and 500 kV, with about 75 percent of planned capacity earmarked for U.S. customers. Those figures are the company’s. GameChange also commissioned its Genius Tracker at the Dannevirke solar farm in New Zealand. The firm publishes no founding year.

The product range is worth setting out, because the company’s name still reads to most people as a racking supplier. The flagship is the Genius Tracker, a single-axis tracker built around preassembled components and a patented SpeedClamp fixing that GameChange says cuts installation labour by 28 percent. A terrain-following variant, the Genius Tracker TF, uses the torque tube’s own flexibility to ride slope, holding a 1.7 degree tolerance and taking grading and steel out of awkward sites. Below that sit fixed-tilt systems in ballasted, pour-in-place and landfill configurations, the last of which the company markets as its own leadership position.

The electrical side arrived by acquisition. GameChange bought Terrasmart’s eBOS business in February 2026, adding DC and AC combiners, recombiners, homerun and wire solutions, disconnect enclosures, battery connection panels and string inverter kit. Pad-mounted and substation transformers are made in-house for energy production, utility distribution, industrial manufacturing and municipal customers. On the software side, GeniusVision tracker monitoring has been paired with Raptor Maps’ Sentry robotic inspection platform, which the two companies describe as the first integrated version of that combination.

Leadership is listed publicly. Andrew Worden is executive chairman and founder, Phillip Vyhanek is chief executive, and the bench includes a chief supply chain officer, a chief engineer and separate general managers for transformers and eBOS, which tracks with a company that has been bolting on product lines rather than growing one.

The physical footprint explains a lot about how it sells. Headquarters is 230 East Avenue, Suite 100, Norwalk, Connecticut, with a research and development centre at Brimfield, Massachusetts. Training and service supercentres sit at Lakeland, Florida; Mesa, Arizona; Newcastle, Australia; Bahia, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; Bogotá, Colombia; Ahmedabad and Navi Mumbai, India; Cape Town, South Africa; and Madrid, Spain. Further offices run through Buenos Aires, Sydney, São Paulo, Suzhou, Dublin, Bangalore, Johannesburg, Dubai and El Paso.

Recent project news includes Genius Tracker systems selected for Texas solar projects tied to data centre growth in July 2026, and a 397 MW relationship with Zagope in Portugal.
