Omega Floor Heating Pty Ltd

Omega Floor Heating is Sydney’s trusted specialist in underfloor heating, offering a one-stop shop for all your electric underfloor heating requirements, making it easy and affordable to access this luxury add-on during your new build or renovation. Servicing the Greater Sydney area and with extensive experience in under floor heating, we have the skills and expertise to guide you through the process and deliver a high quality product and exceptional service, tailored to your requirements. Our comprehensive service includes sourcing and liaising with builders, electricians and tilers on your behalf to ensure that the job is carried out smoothly, professionally and in a timely manner.

Three installation methods, and which one applies depends entirely on the floor build-up rather than on preference. Under-tile heating places a heating mat on top of the screed bed with tiles laid directly over it, so the tiles themselves warm and the heat rises from the finished surface. In-screed systems sit within the screed layer. In-slab systems go into the slab itself, which means the decision has to be made before the pour. Omega’s published project list shows all three in use across Sydney: in-screed at Palm Beach, Beecroft, Mulgoa, Blakehurst and Woolwich, and in-slab at Leonay.

The coordination piece is the company’s actual product as much as the heating is. Omega sources and liaises with the builder, electrician and tiler directly, which removes the sequencing problem that causes most underfloor heating jobs to go wrong. The mat has to be laid at a specific point between screed and tile, and the electrical rough-in and thermostat position have to be set before that. Missing either window means opening the floor back up.

Product sourcing is European, supplied with what the company describes as an extensive warranty. Thermostats are fully programmable, and the company sets these up as part of the install rather than leaving them to the electrician.

The case for the system over conventional heating is spatial. Because the heat source is under the floor, there are no wall units or ceiling vents taking up room, and the heat distributes evenly across a space rather than from a point source, which the company argues holds up even in larger rooms. It also lists the system as silent, dust free, child-safe and maintenance-free once installed.

Scope runs from a single ensuite through to full-home installations across multiple levels, and the company takes commercial as well as residential work.
