Roberson Air Conditioning

Efficient comfort planning in coastal Texas starts with clear scheduling, from equipment selection to final testing. In older or newly remodeled spaces across Wharton, TX, a load calculation helps determine duct sizing, filter capacity, and thermostat placement before any new work begins. Roberson Air Conditioning coordinates installation timing with existing electrical, condensate routing, and window placement to avoid conflicts during busy project phases. When systems falter, ac repair typically includes pinpointing refrigerant issues, sensor faults, or airflow restrictions, followed by testing under normal operating conditions. For upgrades, heat pump installation is mapped to match climate needs, considering defrost cycles, compressor staging, and backup heat for colder snaps. After startup, technicians verify charge levels, confirm airflow at key registers, and set thermostat programs that fit daily routines. Ongoing care—like cleaning coils, clearing drains, and checking ductless mini-split filters—supports steady performance. Many commercial and residential properties also benefit from periodic indoor air quality reviews to keep ventilation, filtration, and humidity in balance.

Ray Roberson founded the company in November 1991, out of the Marine Corps and working out of a single truck. More than thirty years later it is still family-owned and veteran-owned, now multi-generational, and still working the same crawl spaces, attics and mechanical rooms across Wharton County.

The service footprint covers Wharton, El Campo, Beasley, East Bernard and the surrounding rural properties, which is a mix of older homes, remodels and commercial buildings rather than a single housing type. Work spans AC installation and repair, heating installation and repair, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, HVAC maintenance, indoor air quality and commercial systems.

Two things are worth knowing before you call. First, the company guarantees your appointment is booked and confirmed within 12 hours of the request. Second, the Family Service Agreement bundles two visits a year with a five-year parts warranty, priority scheduling and 20% off repairs, which changes the arithmetic on an aging system.

On credentials: technicians hold NATE certification, and the company is an ACCA Energy Star Certified Installer, an LG Pro Dealer and a Coleman CCE Dealer. Chamber of commerce membership goes back to Wharton in 1999, El Campo and East Bernard in 2019, and ASHRAE and ACCA in 2020. Financing runs through monthly payment plans, and the site lists utility incentives separately.

For anyone weighing a heat pump in this part of coastal Texas, the practical questions are defrost behaviour, compressor staging and how backup heat is sized for the handful of genuinely cold snaps. Those are the conversations this crew has been having locally since 1991.
