Simmons Landscape & Irrigation

Installation and seasonal service go hand in hand for a reliable system that protects turf and hardscapes. For new builds or retrofits, sprinkler system installation in Bowling Green, OH typically begins with locating utilities, mapping coverage, and selecting nozzle types to balance precipitation rates across mixed sun and shade. Technicians set heads at grade, flush lines, and program the controller with cycle-and-soak where clay soils demand slower watering. After the first weeks, minor adjustments to arcs and run times help prevent overspray onto sidewalks and driveways. Through the growing season, routine checks confirm pressure, valve function, and sensor operation, including rain or soil-moisture inputs on smart controllers. As temperatures drop, sprinkler winterization in Findlay, OH uses regulated air to clear lines, rotors, and drip zones, helping avoid cracked fittings and split laterals. Simmons Landscape & Irrigation documents zone maps and controller settings, making spring start-ups faster and reducing guesswork when landscapes or planting beds change.

George Simmons left a job at Kew Royal Botanical Garden in England in 1915 and headed to Ohio to start his own business. The company stayed in the family for four generations. In spring 2020 Christopher Corney, a longtime employee, bought it, and the business now marks 105 years of continuous operation from its yard at 11076 Kramer Road in Bowling Green.

The current focus is narrower than the name suggests: irrigation installation and design, irrigation repair, and irrigation maintenance, across both residential and commercial properties. Dedicated service pages are published for Bowling Green and Napoleon, with the broader market described as greater Toledo and Northwest Ohio.

Unusually for the trade, Simmons publishes starting prices instead of asking you to call for a range. A basic system for a front lawn of roughly 4,000 square feet starts near $6,900 and takes about three days. A front-and-back system around 12,000 square feet runs $12,000 to $14,000 over four to seven days. Larger advanced systems, which can include wi-fi timers, flow control and weather sensors, are quoted at $16,000 to $25,000 across one to two weeks. Final figures follow an on-site assessment, and the site carries a slider calculator for a rough estimate.

Maintenance is structured the same way. A first-visit exploratory walkthrough for new clients starts at $249. A fall winterization walkthrough, with visual inspection and notes on repairs to be completed at spring activation, is also $249. A package covering three visits a year including winterization starts at $637, and three health checks annually is what the company recommends. A standard visit covers start-up and visual inspection of visible indoor and outdoor plumbing and meters, a rain sensor function test, full controller function test and programming, sprinkler adjustment, and a verbal health report.

The crew is small, with the site introducing Chris as owner and Tristan as lead installer, and the company reports having made more than 4,000 irrigation systems work properly over the decades.
