The company is on its second generation. Billy Williford started Rescue Hero Plumbing in 1991; his son Bradley Williford now owns and runs it, working alongside family members on the crew. That continuity shows up in how the shop operates: same-day dispatch, round-the-clock availability, a one-year labor warranty on many services, and FTL financing on larger jobs.

Septic certification is a genuine specialty here rather than a sideline. California home sales involving an onsite system usually require one, and Rescue Hero’s version is a full inspection. The tank gets pumped out so the interior can actually be seen, sludge levels are checked, and the tank, pipes and drain field are evaluated for cracks, leaks and collapsed or detached lines. If something fails, the crew writes a repair plan and performs the work under its C-36 contractor’s license. Same-day scheduling matters on these jobs because a certification usually sits on a closing timeline.

On the plumbing side, the range goes well past emergency repairs. Slab leak repair, whole-house repiping, tankless water heater installation, backflow prevention, gas line installation, sump pump service, garbage disposal repair and toilet installation are all handled in house, along with drain and sewer line cleaning. Sewer mains are diagnosed with video camera inspection instead of guesswork, and leak detection calls frequently turn into full repipes once the condition of the rest of the system becomes visible.

The service map is wider than the Bakersfield metro. Dedicated coverage extends to Arvin, Bodfish, Delano, Lake Isabella, Lebec, Oildale, Shafter, Tehachapi, Wasco and Wofford Heights, a spread that runs from the valley floor out to the Kern River Valley and the Tehachapi mountains, where properties are far more likely to be on septic than on municipal sewer.

The shop is at 12343 Jasmine Avenue in Bakersfield.
