Rusty Deeble started Digital Installers in 2000 while still a sophomore at California State University, Long Beach, and the early work was exactly what that moment called for: first-wave home networks, universal remote controls and custom flat-screen installations. Two decades on, Deeble holds multiple US patents, sits on the boards of several audio/video manufacturers, teaches as a certified CEDIA instructor, and was nominated for CEDIA’s Young Professional of the Year in 2019. Farmers & Merchants Bank named him one of California’s Strongest People You Can Count On in 2013, and he serves on the board of the Long Beach YMCA. The company operates a showroom at 1530 E. Wardlow Road in Long Beach and employs 21 full-time staff, among them eight programmers and an in-house engineer. It is a licensed C-7 contractor, bonded and insured, and affiliated with both CEDIA and the American Institute of Architects. Three regional lines cover South Bay and Long Beach, Orange County and the Coachella Valley, and the mapped service area runs from Malibu, Bel Air and Pacific Palisades through Newport Beach and Laguna Niguel out to Palm Springs, Indian Wells and La Quinta. Completed installations have appeared on HGTV, Connected Design, KCAL 9 and in industry journals.

Projects move through five documented stages. An in-person consultation covers lifestyle, interests and budget; a room-by-room proposal sets out lighting, audio, video and networking functions; engineering produces hardware specifications, wiring diagrams, lighting load specs, engineering diagrams and rack elevations; installation follows those drawings, with change orders folded back into the documentation; and every file is archived for later support. The DI CARE service programme adds 24/7/365 remote monitoring, monthly firmware updates and priority scheduling.

Product lines the team designs around include Lutron, Ketra and Lumaris for lighting, Hunter Douglas and Conrad for motorised shading, Sonos for multi-room audio, and Leon and Future Automation for theatre hardware. A separate consulting track serves architects, builders and designers, supplying educational material, design ideas, budgeting tools and a shared communication portal so smart-home decisions land early rather than at trim-out. The firm is also currently offering rebuild assistance to homeowners and businesses affected by the Southern California wildfires.
