Southern Glass Protection

Planning window film for a home or office starts with a simple assessment. A specialist reviews your goals cooling a sunroom, calming glare on screens, or adding privacy then suggests film options with matching visible light levels. Residential home window tinting helps protect floors and furnishings from strong daylight, while Commercial/office window tinting can make open-plan spaces more comfortable for work. Decorative choices suit conference rooms or street-facing glass; privacy & decorative window film hides views without blocking daylight. Sliding glass door tinting is often paired with adjacent windows for a consistent finish. Home security film is another option for entry doors and sidelights. In Coral Springs, FL, many properties have broad exposures, so an installer may recommend combining films in different rooms. Surface prep, precise trimming, and edge finishing are key steps; light haze during curing is normal and clears with time. Southern Glass Protection has worked one category of glass since 2000: flat architectural glass in houses and offices. The Coral Springs company says so directly on its own site, which notes it does no automotive tinting at all and sends no subcontractors to a job. Twenty-five years in, it is still family owned and operated.

The film is Vista, made by Eastman Chemical, and the company installs that brand exclusively. That single-brand approach shapes the menu a buyer actually chooses from. On the solar side, visible light transmittance runs from roughly 5 percent at the darkest end to about 70 percent at near-clear. On the decorative side, the LLumar iLLusions catalogue carries more than 500 frosts, gradients and patterns for a conference room or a street-facing pane. Sliding glass doors are quoted as their own line, and security film, which holds broken glass in the frame and slows an object entering the opening, is sold apart from the solar products.

Performance figures the company publishes: blocking up to 99.9 percent of UV, rejecting as much as 75 percent of solar heat, and cutting glare by up to 87 percent. Installed cost is put at roughly five to ten dollars per square foot, which the company frames as five to ten percent of what replacing the same windows would cost. Annual energy reduction is stated at five to fifteen percent, and commercial projects can pursue as many as nine LEED credits from the same work.

Turnaround is short by design. Most individual windows take about fifteen minutes, and whole jobs finish in hours rather than days, with no need to empty a house or shut an office.

Warranty terms split by building type. Residential Vista installations carry a lifetime warranty against cracking, peeling, adhesive failure and demetallizing, with total film replacement including labor and materials. Most non-residential films carry ten- or fifteen-year terms. The company also warrants against glass breakage and seal failure, with restrictions it asks customers to call about.
