Moss & Associates is a national general contractor and construction manager founded in 2004 and headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The employee-owned firm builds multifamily and hospitality projects, K-12 and higher education facilities, and utility-scale solar and energy infrastructure, and runs a substantial disaster recovery practice. Moss mobilized in February 2026 on Phase I of Westside Village in Fort Worth, a 37-acre, $1.7 billion mixed-use district at University Drive and Westside Drive that will eventually carry 880,000 square feet of office, 238,000 square feet of retail and 1,785 residential units. The Westside Village start marks a significant Texas market entry for a contractor whose work has been concentrated in Florida, California and Hawaii.

Bob Moss started what’s now Moss & Associates in 2004 with two projects and two employees, after 22 years at a Fortune 250 construction firm where he eventually ran Florida operations and then served as chairman, president and CEO. Two decades later the firm employs 4,751 people — 1,859 salaried and 2,892 hourly — and in 2024 ENR named it Contractor of the Year for the Southeast and ranked it the nation’s top solar contractor.

The portfolio behind that growth is unusually wide for a firm this size. Moss built Marlins Park in Miami, ten Walt Disney World resorts totaling roughly 22,000 rooms, the Mayo Clinic campus in Rochester, Minnesota, and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix track, alongside Brightline’s Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach rail stations and Terminal 5 at Fort Lauderdale International Airport. A Solar EPC practice runs in parallel with its traditional construction management work on multi-family, healthcare, hospitality, K-12, higher education, government and battery energy storage (BESS) projects.

Outside its Fort Lauderdale headquarters, Moss keeps offices in Miami, West Palm Beach and Tampa, an Allen, Texas office serving Dallas-Fort Worth, a Honolulu office for Hawai’i, and an Oceanside, California office, and holds contractor licenses in Florida, California, Hawai’i and Arizona. Fortune ranked Moss the #8 Best Workplace in Construction in 2024, and ENR placed it #41 on its 2025 Top 400 U.S. Contractors list — rankings the firm cites alongside its solar-contractor honors.

Founder Bob Moss remains chairman, with sons Scott and Chad Moss serving as president and senior vice president; he’s been inducted into the University of Florida and Clemson construction halls of fame, and received ENR’s Legacy Award, credentials tracing back to a 55-year career that included building Atlantis Paradise Island and Our Lucaya in the Bahamas before Moss & Associates existed. He also serves on the Governor’s Florida Council of 100.
