Journey Construction

Journey Construction is a Sioux Falls, South Dakota general contractor and the construction arm of Journey Group, an employee-owned company whose roots in the region date to 1950. The firm builds commercial, institutional and industrial work across South Dakota and the surrounding Upper Midwest, offering general contracting, construction management, design-build and preconstruction services, and self-performing concrete and carpentry scopes. Journey is currently teamed with Des Moines-based Weitz as the Weitz | Journey joint venture building the $70 million concourse expansion at Sioux Falls Regional Airport, a roughly 70,000-square-foot addition with five new gates that topped out in May 2026 and is scheduled to finish in March 2027. Journey Group also includes engineering and heavy-civil operations.

Brian Gramm serves as chief executive officer of Journey Group. He previously served as the company’s chief financial officer and chief strategy officer for four years before moving into the CEO role, and holds a Master of Business Administration. His background includes more than 20 years of executive experience across accountability processes, investor relations, financial restructuring and strategic planning, including work with multiple Fortune 1,000 companies before joining Journey.
