Consigli Construction

Consigli Construction is a construction manager and general contractor founded in 1905 and based in Milford, Massachusetts. A fifth-generation family business, it builds across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic for healthcare, higher education, life sciences, cultural and federal clients. Consigli is known for complex renovations and additions on occupied campuses, work that demands tight phasing and deep self-perform capability. The firm is part of the joint venture building Memorial Sloan Kettering’s $2.3 billion Kenneth C. Griffin Pavilion in Manhattan. It runs offices across New England, New York and Washington, D.C.

Consigli Construction Co., Inc. began in 1905 when Peter Consigli, a mason who emigrated from Berceto, Italy, opened a masonry business in Milford, Massachusetts. Four generations later, the family-owned company is led by brothers Anthony Consigli, chief executive officer, and Matthew Consigli, president, and has grown into one of the larger construction managers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

The company reports more than 2,600 employees and 15 regional offices stretching down the East Coast from Maine to the Caribbean, with annual volume cited at roughly $4.4 billion. It keeps a self-performing core of more than 900 carpenters, laborers and masons on staff. In 2018 Consigli became 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

Consigli works across academic, corporate, energy, federal, healthcare, hospitality, multi-family residential, museum and cultural, and landmark restoration markets, and within life sciences, advanced technology and mission-critical industries. Its restoration resume includes the Smithsonian Institution’s Renwick Gallery and the UMass Amherst Old Chapel, projects that helped open new regional offices in Washington, D.C., and elsewhere.

The builder’s capabilities span preconstruction, self-performance, mechanical/electrical/plumbing services, virtual design and construction, prefabrication, mass timber, lean project delivery and sustainability. Office locations added over the years include Portland, Maine; Hartford, Connecticut; Albany and New York, New York; and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. In 2024 the company acquired substantial portions of Lendlease’s New York and New Jersey construction operations, adding more than 400 employees and $1.8 billion of healthcare and life sciences work.
