Agave

Agave is a construction-technology company building AI tools for contractors’ financial operations, from accounts-payable invoice automation to vendor compliance and analytics. The platform connects the accounting, project-management, and payment systems that builders already use, then automates the back-office work that eats staff hours. In July 2026 Agave raised a $15 million Series A led by Accel, with continued backing from Y Combinator, bringing total funding past $20 million. The company says it serves more than 500 general and specialty contractors across over 80,000 projects in the U.S. and Canada, and that it has been profitable for two years while tripling revenue year over year.

Agave is a San Francisco software company, founded in 2021, that tackles a specific headache in construction: the industry’s data is scattered across dozens of tools that don’t talk to each other. Its answer is a single, unified API that lets a contractor or software vendor read and write data across project management, scheduling, financials and document-storage systems without building a separate integration for each one.

Its core product, Agave Sync, is a no-code tool that keeps financial and project-management data in step between field teams and back-office systems, bridging legacy ERPs and newer construction software. The company reports integrations spanning more than 70 software vendors and use by hundreds of commercial contractors.

Backed by Y Combinator and Accel, Agave was founded by Pooria Azimi, Tom Reno, Samantha Zhang and John Zucchi and runs as a small team of around 28. For a directory of construction firms, it sits on the technology side of the industry rather than the jobsite, but it is plumbing that a growing number of contractors’ tools now run through.
