Kind Designs is a Miami startup that 3D-prints coastal seawalls, founded in 2022. Its ‘Living Seawalls’ are printed with textured, root-like surfaces that host oysters and marine life while protecting shoreline property, so a structure meant to stop erosion also improves water quality. The company raised $10 million in 2026 to scale production across Florida, where thousands of miles of aging bulkheads face rising seas. Kind Designs prints panels in hours rather than casting them over days, and it installs and services what it builds. It sits at the intersection of construction, manufacturing, and coastal resilience, a niche drawing new investment as climate risk grows.

Kind Designs runs from a Miami River facility at 3007 NW S River Dr and works exclusively along Florida’s coast, listing service areas that include Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Hollywood, Boca Raton, Naples, Tampa, Sarasota and the Florida Keys.

The team is led by founder and CEO Anya Freeman, a former environmental-policy attorney, alongside COO Jeremy Morris, who previously directed print operations at ICON and precast at The Boring Company. Beyond full Living Seawall panels, the company prints Living Seawall Tiles, designs Living Shorelines and takes on custom marine projects, and will connect homeowners with licensed local marine contractors for permitting and installation.
