Nibbi Brothers General Contractors traces to 1950, when Marino Nibbi started a carpentry business in San Francisco and was later joined by his brother Pete. Seventy-five years on it is a roughly 300-person builder with revenue around $473 million, still focused on the Bay Area and heavily weighted toward multifamily and affordable housing. Nibbi is building ElevenEleven Residences at 1101 Sutter Street in Lower Nob Hill, a 22-story, 303-unit cast-in-place concrete tower where 101 units are deed-restricted below market rate. The capital stack includes AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust participation and HUD backing, which carries an all-trades union labor requirement with it.

Three generations in, Nibbi Brothers is led today by Bob Nibbi and Mike Nibbi and concentrates its roughly 300-person workforce on the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area rather than chasing work out of region. The builder offers preconstruction, general contracting and project management, and its portfolio reaches beyond multifamily and affordable housing into education, community-based facilities, waterfront work, and historic and seismic building renovation. That regional focus lets the firm draw on deep familiarity with Bay Area agencies, labor and permitting. Having reached its 75-year milestone in 2025, Nibbi remains one of the larger locally rooted general contractors on the peninsula.
