MANICA Architecture

MANICA Architecture is a Kansas City sports design firm founded in 2007 by David Manica, and it has become one of the more sought-after names in stadium and arena design worldwide. The firm is leading the design of Continental Coliseum, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s $900 million downtown arena, with TVS as architect of record. MANICA specializes in large venues, from NFL stadiums to global soccer grounds, where sightlines, crowd flow and iconic form all have to resolve at once. A relatively young practice, it has built its reputation on high-profile sports commissions rather than volume, competing with much larger firms for marquee projects.

MANICA Architecture works almost exclusively on major sports and entertainment venues, and its credit list is global: Allegiant Stadium for the Las Vegas Raiders, Chase Center for the Golden State Warriors, the Camp Nou renovation for FC Barcelona, and Lusail Stadium in Qatar, the last designed with Foster + Partners. Founder David Manica launched the boutique in Kansas City in 2007 after leading designs for The O2 Arena and the current Wembley Stadium earlier in his career. The firm runs out of a renovated pre-war warehouse in Kansas City, Kansas, and keeps its team deliberately small for a practice handling billion-dollar arenas and stadiums. Concept and feasibility design, venue master planning and full architectural design all sit in-house.
