E-J Electric Installation Co. has been wiring New York since 1899 and is now one of the largest electrical contractors in the country, with more than 4,500 employees across 33 offices. The Long Island City firm handles electrical contracting, design-build and EPC delivery, 3D BIM engineering, prefabrication, 24/7 maintenance and storm recovery, and takes on packages up to $900 million. EC&M ranked it 11th among national electrical contractors in 2025. E-J is a joint venture partner with Skanska USA Civil Northeast on Amtrak’s East River Tunnel Rehabilitation, a roughly $1.6 billion program to rebuild two Sandy-damaged tubes under the East River, where E-J carries electrical, signals and traction power. Its New York portfolio also includes Yankee Stadium, Moynihan Train Hall and the Second Avenue Subway station at 96th Street.
