The name is an acronym of daughters. When Darren and Shawn set up their electrical company out of Delta, they used the initials of Amanda, Jenna and Samantha, because they wanted the family part of the business visible on the truck. AJ’s Electrical Service & Repair has been working across the Lower Mainland since 2003 and operates as a division of AJ’s Electrical Contractors Ltd.
Credentials are posted rather than implied. The company carries electrical contractor registration and Technical Safety BC licence #50266, and is bonded and insured. Its footer also carries WorkSafeBC, the BC Industry Training Authority, the Delta Chamber of Commerce and Greater Vancouver Home Builders’ Association marks.
On the residential side the published scope runs to service panel installation, repair and upgrades, pot lights, EV charging stations, hot tub and bathroom exhaust fan circuits, ceiling fans, smoke detector installs and upgrades, landscape and security lighting, and general troubleshooting. Technicians are vetted before hire, and the company makes a point of that because of who it is letting into people’s homes.
Commercial jobs are dispatched fast on the reasoning that downtime costs a business money. That work covers LED retrofitting of existing fixtures, fixture upgrades, service panel upgrades and replacements, parking lot light replacement, lighting design and installation, electrical inspections and tenant improvements, with the crew coordinating directly with lighting designers where a project has one.
