Proudly serving Palm Desert, California, we tailor recommendations to your home’s layout and your comfort goals, helping you make smart, cost‑conscious decisions. Choose Esser Air Conditioning and Heating for careful attention, reliable solutions, and a comfortable home all year long.

Start with the range, because it is unusual for a desert HVAC shop. Alongside air conditioning and heating, Esser installs and repairs water heaters, blows in attic insulation and cleans ductwork. Those three lines address the same problem from different angles — a Coachella Valley house that cannot hold temperature — and having them under one roof means one company diagnoses the envelope and the equipment together.

Tim Esser started the business in 1980 after moving to the valley from Connecticut, and he is still president. His son Michael Esser runs field operations as general manager, with other family members in customer service. The company operates under California license #489046 from 77971 Wildcat Drive, Suite E.

The service footprint has grown well beyond Palm Desert. Palm Springs, La Quinta and Cathedral City are core territory. Indio and Rancho Mirage are described as major service hubs, Indian Wells and Bermuda Dunes as expanding areas, and Desert Hot Springs, Beaumont and Banning round out the map for both residential and light commercial customers.

A few operating details are worth knowing before calling. Pricing is flat-rate rather than hourly. Field employees are background checked, and the sales staff are licensed. Emergency coverage runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Estimates on new systems are complimentary, and financing is arranged through Wells Fargo. The site carries a Spanish-language section for Spanish-speaking customers.

Maintenance is sold as an agreement rather than a one-off. The company’s position is that a system needs servicing at least twice a year in this climate, and it will walk through the points covered in the agreement before you sign anything. Comfort Specialists hold NATE certification, and the company installs Trane systems as a Trane Comfort Specialist and Mitsubishi ductless equipment.

Outside the trade, Tim Esser founded the Tour de Palm Springs and the Patriot Ride for our Heroes, charity rides that have together raised over a million dollars locally, and started the Roadrunner Mountain Bike Team for local middle and high school riders.
