H.C. Pruitt opened this shop in Buford in 1978, and the family is still running it — the site describes a family-owned and operated Christian company now marking its 48th year. Longevity in a trade where firms change hands every few years is the first thing a homeowner notices here; the second is the billing policy.

Two commitments sit on the front page. There are no overtime charges, so a Saturday night call is priced the same as a Tuesday morning one, and emergency service runs 24 hours a day. Repairs come with a 60-day parts and labor guarantee. The company holds Georgia license #CR108446.

The service map is wider than Buford alone. Gainesville, Braselton, Duluth, Cumming, Suwanee, Johns Creek and Sugar Hill all appear as named coverage areas, which covers most of Gwinnett and Hall counties plus the northern edge of metro Atlanta.

Work splits three ways. Residential cooling and heating is the bulk of it — repair, replacement, maintenance, heat pumps and ductless mini-splits. A second line handles controls and thermostats, including the load calculation the company runs before sizing a replacement unit rather than matching the old nameplate. The third is light commercial HVAC for small business buildings, which not every residential shop in the area takes on.

Equipment-wise, Pruitt is a Trane Comfort Specialist and a Mitsubishi dealer, though the technicians service all brands. On indoor air quality the company stocks purifiers, UV lights and high-efficiency filtration that mount to an existing system rather than requiring a full replacement.

Recognition is mostly local and neighbor-driven: Pruitt was named a 2025 Nextdoor Neighborhood Fave in that platform’s ninth annual local business awards, an honor decided by the volume of neighbor recommendations rather than a panel. The firm also lists memberships with the Buford Business Alliance and the local chamber, and runs a mission work page describing its charitable commitments.

Financing options are available for replacements. Appointments go through (770) 450-6001 or the request form at pruittha.com.
