NYC Constructors LLC (@nycconstructors) is a leading steel erecting company named after the city which stands as an icon for world class high-rise construction. We have helped build many of New York’s most prominent edifices including the World Trade Center Towers 1,3, & 4; World Trade Center Transportation Hub, and the rising Midtown skyscraper, One Vanderbilt.
Together with our affiliated company, Banker Steel, we service and supply the construction industry across North America. With Banker Steel – New Jersey, we can execute short deadline changes and assemble multi component modules that facilitate complex job site logistical problems. Learn more about Banker Steel

The operating base is a Midtown office at 110 East 42nd Street, Suite 610, a short walk from One Vanderbilt.
Scope starts well before the first piece of steel arrives. The in-house engineering group models and details erection sequences using Tekla 3-D software and can issue drawings signed and sealed by the company’s own professional engineers. That extends to means-and-methods logistics drawings describing how major components get unloaded and set, crane and derrick placement plans with load capacities at various radii, and separate engineering for installing and removing tower and conventional cranes, including the loads those cranes impose.
Three pieces of equipment account for much of the firm’s standing in the high-rise market. The Cocoon is a lightweight hydraulic screen system that climbs the face of a tower as erection progresses, protecting the public and the trades below; it debuted at One World Trade Center and has since become the preferred method on New York steel high-rises. Internal core platforms solve a code problem, since New York restricts ironworkers from working on steel carrying shop-applied nelson studs. The two-story platform gives crews a working deck inside the core that consolidates tools and equipment and jumps floor to floor. Rather than depend on hoist cars, the company also built a modular stair tower that covers one to ten floors and is raised continuously to the leading floor of erection.
Safety orientation is run in-house for every new hire on top of whatever the general contractor or construction manager requires, and there is an open observation channel called Raising Safety with its own email address. Quality assurance is handled as a chain that begins at design review and ends at project closeout, carried by specifications, procedures, project controls, contract administration and inspection.
Credentials come from both the fabrication and the labor side. NYC Constructors is an AISC Certified Erector, staffs projects out of Ironworkers Locals 40, 361 and 580 along with Locals 14-14B, 15-15A and 15D, and holds memberships in the Subcontractors Trade Association and the Erectors Group of Allied Building Metal Industries.
Projects the company features include 270 Park Avenue, JFK’s New Terminal One, the Rockefeller University River Campus, 66 Hudson Boulevard, known as The Spiral, and the Javits Convention Center expansion. The Rockefeller job required delivering modular laboratory sections by barge; company president Barry King was recognized in the trade press for the strategy behind it.
