Mort’s traces its line back to 1887, when Fred Madsen worked north Iowa as a well driller. The company’s history page runs that lineage forward through Ed Morton, who took on mill and well supplies in 1932, and on through later generations to the present day. The firm puts its accumulated experience in the water business at more than 135 years.

What that history has produced is a business with an unusually wide footprint for a rural contractor.
