Survey Group

At Survey Group in Auckland, NZ, we are an innovative engineering surveying company utilising the best technology available to achieve first-class, fast and optimised results for our clients and partners.
While we are technology agnostic, we use the best equipment to achieve the best results. Our equipment includes Trimble and Leica TPS & GPS, Laser Scanners and various UAVs (Drones).

Survey Group was established in 1987, which puts close to four decades behind the Auckland office at Building 2, 1 William Pickering Drive, Rosedale.

The published project list is the clearest picture of what the firm actually does. It includes City Rail Link C6, Auckland Rail Electrification, the KiwiRail network, Manukau Bus Station, the NZTA bridge pier relocation and the Fergusson Wharf extension on the infrastructure side, and ASB North Wharf, the Park Hyatt Hotel, Seascape, Alexandra Park Apartments, Lorne Street student accommodation and the Auckland Zoo redevelopment on the building side. Toyota Pukekohe and Cardinal Logistics cover the industrial end.

That spread maps onto the service list. Construction surveying and boundary setout handle the day-to-day build; topographic and civil surveys sit at the front of a project; laser scanning produces as-built point clouds; monitoring surveys track movement in real time on active sites; and rail and high-rise surveying are called out separately because both demand tighter tolerances than general construction.

The firm’s stated position on equipment is that it is technology agnostic and chooses per job, which is also what keeps deliverables interoperable across a project team using different systems.
