The service area is wider than the business address suggests, and it crosses a state line. On the Washington side the company lists Vancouver, Aerial, Battle Ground, Camas, Centralia, Chehalis, Felida, Hazel Dell, Kalama, Kelso, La Center, Lake Shore, Longview, Ridgefield, Salmon Creek, Scappoose, Stevenson, Warren, Washougal, White Salmon, Woodland and Yacolt. On the Oregon side: Portland, Beaverton, Cornelius, Durham, Fairview, Forest Grove, Gladstone, Gresham, Happy Valley, Hillsboro, Johnson City, King City, Lake Oswego, Maywood Park, Milwaukie, Oregon City, Rivergrove, Sherwood, Tigard, Troutdale, Tualatin, West Linn, Wilsonville and Wood Village. That is licensed in both states, Oregon #100530 and Washington #FIVESSS764DK, and the business is bonded and insured.

The technical distinction the company draws is between grinding a stump and grinding the roots. Leaving the root system in place is what lets certain species send up shoots again, so removing it is the difference between a cosmetic fix and a permanent one, and it is also what makes it possible to lay level turf over the spot afterwards rather than working around a soft patch.

Machine size is matched to access. The listed fleet is a Vermeer SC30 for narrow gates and confined back gardens, an SC70 for standard residential work, and an SC852 for large stumps and commercial sites.

A customer review on the site describes the part of this job that homeowners underestimate. A stump sat directly over a gas main and electrical service; Brandon arranged for every utility company to come out and mark the lines before returning at the scheduled time to grind it. On a suburban lot where a tree was planted over a service run, that locate work is not optional, and it is worth asking about before booking anyone.

Alongside stumps, the company clears blackberry, the invasive that takes over gardens and yards across the Pacific Northwest and is difficult to remove by hand. Residential and commercial work is both handled, and the contact number listed is 360-903-4635.
