Technicians at Panther Heating and Cooling hold NATE certification, the North American Technician Excellence credential that tests diagnostic and installation knowledge equipment type by equipment type. The company describes itself as family owned and locally operated, working out of Rock Hill.

Its coverage crosses the state line. South Carolina towns on the published list are Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Tega Cay, Indian Land, York and Clover; on the North Carolina side it names Charlotte, Matthews and Waxhaw — effectively the southern half of the Charlotte metro rather than York County alone.

The catalog reaches past furnaces and condensers. Ductwork, ductless mini splits, indoor air quality equipment, smart thermostats, zone control systems and commercial HVAC each have their own service page. Zoning and mini splits are the interesting entries there: they are what a contractor reaches for in additions, converted garages and older two-storey houses where one thermostat was never going to balance both floors.

Two programs run alongside the repair business. The Total Assurance Plan is a maintenance membership built around scheduled seasonal service, aimed at catching a failing part before it quits in July or January. Financing is arranged through Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., with a promotional 60-month term for qualified applicants, and invoices can be settled through an online payment portal.

Air duct work and indoor air quality equipment are sold as standalone jobs rather than add-ons to a system replacement, and commercial HVAC sits on the same service list as the residential lines — a wider span than most family-run contractors of this size attempt. A careers page and a staff directory both run on the site, which is the usual marker of directly employed technicians.

Intake follows a fixed four-step sequence the company calls the Panther Way: a request through the contact form, a home review by a technician, a written plan with an estimate, then the work itself. Reviews aggregated on its own site number more than 1,100 at a 4.9 average, and the named-technician pattern that runs through them — the same handful of people mentioned repeatedly across several years — points to low turnover on the service side.
