Capps & Company runs its operations from a Highway 280 office in Birmingham, open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and closed Sundays, and its crews carry OSHA 10 safety certification, a credential covering job-site hazard training that sits alongside — but separate from — the manufacturer-brand certifications some roofing competitors advertise.

Where the company differs operationally is in how it handles insurance claims: rather than referring homeowners to an outside adjuster, Capps & Co. says its own staff includes certified public adjusters who work a claim from the initial filing through settlement, and the company states it works with most major insurance carriers rather than a narrow preferred-vendor list. The company’s own site pairs that in-house adjusting with a specific warning aimed at homeowners — to be wary of any contractor who offers to complete a job for more than an insurer’s approved amount, since that kind of arrangement can expose the homeowner to liability if the insurer later audits the claim.

Completed roof installations carry a five-year quality installation warranty, separate from whatever coverage applies to the shingle or material manufacturer itself. Financing is available through a program the company describes as a 60-second pre-qualification that does not affect the applicant’s credit score, and for situations that cannot wait for a scheduled appointment, the company states customers can call anytime, day or night, rather than being limited to standard business hours.

Beyond new roof installation and replacement, the company’s own materials list siding replacement as a service performed alongside roofing jobs, and the site’s storm-claims section is written specifically toward homeowners going through the insurance process for the first time, walking through each step from filing the claim to the final inspection rather than assuming the reader already understands how a claim settlement works.
