When you’re looking for the top Hillsboro garage door company, look no further than John’s Custom Garage Doors!

John’s Custom Garage Doors traces back to 1948, when the business was first established in the Hillsboro area. Rather than changing hands to outside owners over the decades, ownership has stayed within the same family, and the company is now run by a fourth generation of that family, putting its actual history at closer to eight decades than the “over 60 years” shorthand sometimes used to describe it.

That long run in one place shapes what the business looks like today. It still operates out of Hillsboro, at 6320 NE Oelrich Street, and covers a defined cluster of Washington County communities rather than the broader Portland metro area: Beaverton, Portland proper, Forest Grove, Yamhill, and Tigard alongside Hillsboro itself. The crew works out of trucks the company describes as fully equipped, a setup built around resolving a stuck or broken door on the spot rather than scheduling a separate visit once parts arrive.

Spring replacement is treated as a distinct, warrantied line of work rather than a routine repair item. The company backs broken spring replacements with a four-year warranty and describes the parts used as premium, name-brand hardware rather than generic stock. It also frames sudden failures, such as a door that won’t open or a spring that leaves a car trapped inside a garage, as emergency calls it responds to directly rather than requests that get queued behind other scheduled jobs.

Anyone comparing John’s against garage door companies that advertise round-the-clock dispatch should note that the shop keeps a standard weekday schedule: doors open for business at 8 in the morning and wrap up by 5, with nobody in on Saturday or Sunday. Estimates for new installations or repairs are offered free of charge and can be requested through the company’s contact form, consistent with a business built on personal, repeat relationships within a fairly narrow home base rather than broad regional advertising.
