BP Building Concepts opened its doors in Thomastown in 2016, taking on carpentry and framing packages for builders across Melbourne. In the years since, the company has become a registered building practitioner with the Victorian Building Authority and holds membership with Master Builders Victoria, credentials that sit behind the framing and cladding crews working on its sites. A client testimonial on the company’s own website, dated to the year the business started, credits the team’s owner, Matt, and his crew with consistent quality across that whole stretch.

The company’s project list runs wider than framing alone. Alongside LGS framing and external cladding replacement, the team carries out full home extensions, including second-storey additions, sunrooms and granny flats, plus kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovations. Knock-down rebuild projects and sloping block builds also feature regularly, the latter a category that calls for extra care with footings and site engineering given how much of Melbourne’s outer north sits on uneven ground. On the larger end of the scale, the company has taken on multi-unit developments and townhouse projects for clients building more than a single dwelling.

BP Building Concepts also operates as a resource for other builders rather than only working directly with homeowners. It offers administration and estimating support and labour hire, supplying trade capacity to construction companies that need extra hands or paperwork help on a job. That combination, taking on its own residential and commercial contracts while also subcontracting labour and admin services to other Melbourne builders, is part of how the company has built its reputation across the industry over the past several years.

The business runs out of a base on Settlement Road in Thomastown, in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, and keeps standard weekday hours, Monday to Friday from 7am to 3.30pm, rather than operating on weekends. The team also builds decks, pergolas, carports and garage conversions for existing homes, rounding out a client base that ranges from single-home renovations through to larger subdivision-style developments.
